Members of Tau Beta Sigma,

As we continue our work together this biennium, the National Council is pleased to share an important leadership update within Tau Beta Sigma.

Following the recent transition within the National Council – during which National Vice President for Special Projects Monika Monk assumed the role of National Vice President for Membership & Expansion – the Sorority initiated a search to fill the resulting vacancy of the National Vice President for Special Projects. We are grateful to the many members who expressed interest and submitted materials demonstrating their commitment to Tau Beta Sigma’s Mission and future.

After a thoughtful review and interview process, the National Council is pleased to announce the appointment of David Alexander as National Vice President for Special Projects, effective January 1, 2026, serving the remainder of the biennium.

In this role, David will:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of special initiatives of the Sorority;
  • Coordinate and support programs and projects assigned by the National President and National Council;
  • Serve as a resource to National Committees and Task Forces as needed; and
  • Collaborate with members of the National Leadership Team to advance the Mission and Vision of Tau Beta Sigma.

David has been a member of Tau Beta Sigma since his initiation into the Gamma Omega Chapter at the University of Pittsburgh in 1998. Over the past two decades, he has served the Sorority in numerous Chapter, District, and National leadership roles, including District President and Chairperson of the Tau Beta Sigma Alumni Association Executive Council. His work has centered on strengthening member engagement, creating cohesive and inclusive member experiences, and building systems and resources that support sustainable organizational growth. David has also contributed to significant initiatives such as refining the Sorority’s Vision Statement and supporting long-term strategic planning efforts.

Professionally, David works at Progressive Insurance, where he brings experience in process improvement, operational strategy, and leadership development. His professional work is informed by a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrated through his involvement with Progressive’s Network for Empowering Women (NEW) Employee Resource Group and his service on the CRM DEI Council. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, David remains focused on helping members find their voice, embrace leadership opportunities, and build meaningful connections that strengthen the Tau Beta Sigma experience.

Please join the National Council in welcoming David to this role. We look forward to the leadership, collaboration, and perspective he will bring as we continue advancing our shared work in service to collegiate bands and our members.

For Greater Bands!

Allison
