The Beta Pi chapter (#64) was installed at Howard College (now Samford University) on May 6, 1958. Kappa Kappa Psi District VIII Governor Dr. Raymond Mannoni served as the installing officer, and the Beta Kappa chapter from Missouri Southern College performed the Ritual and installation ceremony. Charter members include: Gloria Jean Hayes, Evelyn Thompson, Martha Thomason, Carole Watson, Alice Jo Anne Brock, Bonnie A. Buckner, Myra Gay, Patsy Gilbert, Julie Alice Granada, Barbara K. Gustin, Loyce Faye Hamilton, Helen Huntley, Linda Morrison, Ruth Phillips, Betty Jean Pickens, Virginia Reid, and Dorothy Campbell Nugent.
