The Alpha Rho Chapter (#41) was installed at the University of South Dakota on March 21, 1953. Lucille Marks Served as the installing Officer. The Charter members include: Joanne Burges, Dorla Dries, Genevie Ernst, Velma Kucha, Ita Loe, Carol McManis, Pat Miller, Margaret Montgomery, Sally Olson, Choice Pier, Barbara J. Reid, Barbara Smith, Connie Taplett, Jo Ann Trenker, and Honorary Merton Utgaard (Director of Bands).
