Alumni and Honorary Members of Tau Beta Sigma,

As we continue our work together this biennium, the National Council is announcing an important leadership opportunity within Tau Beta Sigma.

Earlier this week an announcement was shared that National Vice President for Membership & Expansion Kelsey Reilly submitted her resignation from the National Council. In accordance with National Constitution 3.212, National Vice President for Special Projects Monika Monk will become the National Vice President for Membership & Expansion.

With this transition, a vacancy has been created on the National Council. The Sorority is now accepting applications for the office of National Vice President for Special Projects for the remainder of the biennium.

The primary duties of the National Vice President for Special Projects are to:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of special initiatives of the Sorority;
  • Coordinate and support programs and projects assigned by the National President and National Council;
  • Serve as a resource to National Committees and Task Forces as needed; and
  • Collaborate with members of the National Leadership Team to advance the Mission and Vision of Tau Beta Sigma.

Further information regarding duties and eligibility requirements can be found in the Tau Beta Sigma National Constitution (Section 3.2).

Members of the National Council serve without compensation, although the Sorority reimburses travel expenses incurred on its behalf. Interested individuals should meet the following basic qualifications:

  • Be a Life Member of Tau Beta Sigma in good standing and at least 25 years of age at the time of appointment;
  • Have completed an undergraduate degree program;
  • Possess outstanding leadership and business ability, and be capable of representing the Sorority under all ordinary conditions; and
  • Be able and willing to serve the remainder of the current biennium once appointed.

The individual selected will interview with the National Council and be appointed by the National President.

Tau Beta Sigma remains committed to advancing its Mission and Vision, serving collegiate bands, empowering members to lead with purpose, and fostering meaningful connections across our organization. We look forward to welcoming a new leader to the National Council who will help continue this important work and contribute to the growth and success of our Chapters and members.
