The National Leadership of Tau Beta Sigma is working to develop a strategic plan to address diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within our organization. One component of that plan is the creation of a DEI committee.
This committee will assist the leadership of the Sorority in initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This work could include, but would not be limited to: identifying needs and concerns of our members, reviewing current practices and organizational culture, identifying training opportunities for our leadership, compiling and/or developing resources for use on all levels of the organization, promoting awareness throughout district and national events, and proposing long-term commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The National Leadership is currently accepting applications for the DEI Committee. Members of the DEI committee will be current members of the Tau Beta Sigma Alumni Association and/or life members of Tau Beta Sigma. Sisters interested in serving on this committee are asked to provide the following documents:
- A letter of intent stating desire to participate, relevant professional and/or educational expertise, and goals for serving on the committee
- A resume outlining professional and Sorority work
- The resume can consist of a one-page professional resume and a one-page Tau Beta Sigma resume OR
- A two-page resume outlining both professional and Sorority work
To submit your applications, please complete the form below and upload applicable documents by 11:59 PM CDT on August 28, 2020.
The application process will take place in two rounds and include a blind review by a selection panel consisting of two members each from the National Council, Board of Trustees, and the TBSAA Executive Council, and will be chaired by TBSAA Executive Council member Dr. Ovura (Thea) Murphy. The members of the selection panel were chosen based on their professional and/or educational expertise with issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The selection panel will work to ensure the selected DEI committee reflects the communities that make up our Sorority. If you have any questions about the DEI committee process, please contact Tau Beta Sigma National President Adrienne Rall via email.
