Vanessa McPherson, WD Counselor
Epsilon Kappa, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

E-Mail Vanessa

I fell in love with Tau Beta Sigma as a sister of the Epsilon Kappa chapter at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). As a first year student and Tuba Girl in the UCLA Solid Gold Sound Bruin Marching Band, I was introduced to TBS by seeing the greek letters on sweaters among some of the girls in band. When I learned what TBS is, I knew it was the organization for me. My first year as an Active sister, I became our chapter's first ever Secretary of History and Alumni. The next year I knew I wanted to share my love of TBS with potential members, so I ran and was elected as our chapter Vice President. The next step was clear to me--to give back to my sisters as a District Officer. I ran at Convention and was elected as the Western District Vice President of Membership.

And now I have the biggest honor of all--serving my sisters as a Western District Counselor.

I earned my BA in Sociology from UCLA, with a Minor in Classical Civilizations. I continued on to Point Loma Nazarene University, where I earned my MA in Education with an emphasis on Counseling & Guidance, and also earned my Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential. I recently was offered my dream job as I School Counselor and am so happy to be working with high school and middle school students.
I love video games (especially Zelda and Mario), I've been skydiving twice, and I am lucky enough to be married to the nerdy man of my dreams!
